
JELL-O PROGRAM, THE (RADIO)
Summary
One in this series of comedy/variety programs starring
Jack Benny. This program was broadcast from the Ritz
Theatre in Manhattan due to Benny's appearance in New
York City for the premiere of the film, "Love Thy
Neighbor." Highlights include the following: Benny and
Don Wilson talk about Fred Allen and their visit to New
York; Benny hires a bodyguard, "Killer" Hogan, to
protect him from Allen during his stay in New York;
Dennis Day sings "There I Go"; Benny's physician, Dr.
Leroy, arrives and checks the condition of Benny's
lungs; the orchestra plays "So You're the One"; Mancel
Talcott, mayor of Waukegan, Illinois, tries to convince
Benny to move the premiere of "Love Thy Neighbor" to his
hometown; and Benny searches for Rochester, who has
been missing in Harlem since the previous program.
