Summary
One in this series of comedy/variety programs hosted by Jack Paar. On this show, Paar's guests are comedian Buddy Hackett, singer Sally Ann Howes, and impressionist Vaughn Meader. Highlights include: Paar opens the program with a monologue which touches on such topics as the newspaper strike, the upcoming Christmas holiday, and how men shop for gifts as compared to how women shop; Howes sings "Another Time, Another Place" from the musical "Kwamina"; next Vaughn Meader, who does an impression of President John F. Kennedy, performs a selection from his top-selling comedy album entitled "The First Family"; Meader also takes random questions from the audience, in the manner of Kennedy at his press conferences; Buddy Hackett joins Paar on stage and the two friends talk about such topics as the holiday of Chanukah; what Hackett thought happened when his heartburn suddenly went away; his mother's Jewish cooking; what he wanted to do before he went into comedy; going on a diet; and the new movie "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" in which he co-stars. Paar also narrates a film of his Christmas trips to Jerusalem, Tokyo, London, Rome, Hawaii, Hong Kong, and the Soviet Union. Includes commercials and promo.
