NEW LOVE AMERICAN STYLE: LOVE AND THE
CATERER/GOTTA DANCE (TV)
Summary
One in this updated version of the 1969-1974 series of comedy programs looking at love in America from many points of view. In the first segment, "Love and the Caterer," caterer Jennifer prepares for a glamorous party for mystery client "Bobo Entertainment." However, Bobo ends up being her ex-boyfriend Bob, who left her five years ago. Though disgusted, now Jennifer has to cater a meal during which Bob will ask his current squeeze for her hand in marriage. Confusion arises when Bambi, the girlfriend of Bob's roommate, Vince, arrives. Eventually, Bob admits that he intentionally hired Jennifer, wanting to apologize for his past and claiming how much he still cares about her. In fact, Bob reveals that Jennifer is the "special woman" to whom he wishes to propose. However, Jennifer is unsure about whether she should take Bob back. In the second segment, "Gotta Dance," two dance instructors -- the always-positive Evelyn and the grouchy Angela -- talk about their upcoming clients. Angela's client is the obese and tango-obsessed Sam, while Evelyn teaches the "conscientious" Mr. Newman. Evelyn gets through her dance sessions by dreaming of partnering with Fred Astaire. Also, a "blackout" skit precedes and/or follows each story. Includes commercials.
