BILLY CRYSTAL: A COMIC'S LINE (TV)

Summary

A comedy special featuring stand-up comedian/actor Billy Crystal that starts off as a spoof of the Broadway musical "A Chorus Line." Targets of Crystal's comic barbs include the following: what it is like to work on cable television; his contention that the men who come to your house to install cable, phones, and other appliances should be required to wear their pants above the waist; how cable television allows you to watch professional wrestling at any time of the day; midget wrestlers; what it would be like to watch the news and see a midget weatherman come on; emergency rooms in New York and San Francisco; watching horror movies with a predominantly black audience; growing up in his grandparents' home; sports and sex in high school; his first date; the trouble with having dogs as pets; and the fun an owner can have playing fetch with a dog. A sketch involves a ten-year-old and staying in the house alone for the first time, and a final sketch originates from "Fernando's Hideaway," an early morning talk show, with featured guests Cathy Lee Crosby and Johnny Yune.
