HAPPY NEW YEAR, CHARLIE BROWN! (TV)
Summary
One in this series of animated children's specials featuring the characters from the comic strip "Peanuts." In this program, to his dismay, Charlie Brown is given an assignment to read Tolstoy's "War and Peace" during the Christmas vacation. When Marcie and Peppermint Patty decide to host a New Year's party, he summons his courage and invites his true love, the little red-haired girl, to be his date. She does not respond to his invitation, but he attends the party anyway, lugging "War and Peace" along with him. Lonely and disappointed, he settles down on the porch to read and misses the evening's big surprise. Commercials deleted.
