Summary
One in this comedic private detective series about David Addison and Maddie Hayes of the Blue Moon detective agency. Two black-and-white dream sequences highlight this special episode, introduced by Orson Welles and dedicated to the famous director's memory. When Maddie and David end up on the scene of the legendary Flamenco Cove murder, their imaginations start to run wild. That murder case involved a singer named Rita who had fallen in love with the trumpet player in her husbandÕs big band. Rita was executed for her husbandÕs murder, as was the trumpet player, each claiming to the bitter end that it was the other who committed the crime. Maddie, who is convinced that the trumpet player did it, dreams about the murder, placing herself in the singerÕs shoes and imagining David as the ruthless horn player. David, who thinks Maddie is a sexist for assuming that the man was the culprit, dreams of himself as the suave, innocent trumpet player, manipulated by the evil siren, "played" by Maddie. Includes commercials. This program is closed-captioned. (Orson Welles, who introduces this episode, died five days before its initial airing; the show is dedicated to his memory.)
