JACKIE GLEASON PRESENTS: THE HONEYMOONERS CHRISTMAS CAROL (TV)
Summary
This Christmas comedy special features the characters from "The Honeymooners," including Ralph Kramden, a blustery bus driver, his long-suffering but understanding wife, Alice, and their neighbors, Ed and Trixie Norton. In this program, set during the holiday season in Brooklyn, Ralph wants to impress his boss, Mr. Marshall, at the Gotham Bus Company. Hoping for a promotion, Ralph offers to direct Mrs. Marshall's annual Christmas play for her favorite charity, which raises money for city cats. Ralph forgets, however, that the date of the play coincides with the Kramdens' scheduled vacation to Miami. The program includes Ralph's adaptation of Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol," with a cast that features Ralph, Alice, Ed, and Trixie (played here by Jane Kean). To show his appreciation to the Kramdens and Nortons for their appearances in his wife's Christmas play, Mr. Marshall promises each of them a special Christmas present. Commercials deleted.
