ALL IN THE FAMILY: WE'RE HAVING A HEAT WAVE (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedy programs about a working-class household presided over by the opinionated Archie Bunker. In this episode, a city-wide heat wave sets tempers in the Bunker household flaring. Archie grows increasingly angry with Mike, who won't stop haranguing him about the Watergate scandal, and Archie is annoyed that city officials are asking residents to not turn on their air conditioners. When he learns that an African-American couple are considering buying the house next door, Archie becomes furious and vows to circulate a petition he has drafted designed to keep what he calls "minororities" out of the neighborhood. Archie's neighbor, African-American Henry Jefferson, finds out about the petition and storms into the Bunker house, demanding that Archie cease his racist plotting. When the new neighbors stop by the Bunker home to say hello, however, Jefferson reconsiders his position. Commercials deleted.
