MUTUAL OF OMAHA'S WILD KINGDOM: MEMORABLE MOMENTS IN THE WILD KINGDOM (TV)
Summary
One in this nature series that examines animals in the wild. This episode consists of highlights from the first fourteen years of "Wild Kingdom." In the first clip, host Marlin Perkins finds himself underestimating the temperament of a pair of ornery cougar kittens. Next, Perkins and cohort Jim Fowler come to the aid of a pair of baby bears born during their mother's hibernation period. Perkins places the cubs in his jacket to simulate the mother's fur as he brings them to food. In the third clip, Fowler leaps from a helicopter to try to tag an elk with a device that helps wildlife experts trace animals' movements. Fowler misjudges his leap and ends up getting dragged across hundreds of feet of snow by the frightened animal. Next, Fowler and Perkins are forced to come up with some creative tactics for netting a wild jaguar that has wandered out of its natural habitat. In other clips, Fowler and Perkins observe elephants using their trunks to dig for underground water in the desert, inoculate elephant calves, and track a buffalo cow in Australia. In the last clip, the "Wild Kingdom" crew is assaulted by a hyperactive and relentless Capuchin monkey. The diminutive simian jumps all over each of the men; unlike other species who are terrified of humans, the monkey seems intent on asserting his right to his territory. Commercials deleted.
