ONE DAY AT A TIME: ANN'S DECISION {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The premiere of this series of comedies about the lives and struggles of divorcŽe Ann Romano and her two daughters, Julie and Barbara. In this episode, Ann refuses to allow her sixteen-year-old daughter, Julie, to go camping with a few boys from school, infuriating the teenager. Barbara, meanwhile, is simply gleeful about making the basketball team. Ann is distracted from her argument with Julie by visits from two men: her younger boyfriend, David, and the smarmy building supervisor, Schneider. Each drops by with alcohol and two different types of proposals. However, Ann's looming crisis with her daughter suddenly comes to a head when Julie threatens to leave home and live with her father unless Ann permits her to go camping. Angered by the ultimatum, Ann obstinately hands her bus fare and Julie walks out the door. Later, Ann wishes she had spoken calmly with her daughter and comes to grips with her responsibilities as a single parent who must handle all decisions. Julie suddenly returns home, supposedly just to grab her Elton John albums. But the mother and daughter arrive at a compromise, and Ann speaks frankly with her daughters about her new role as a single mom. Commercials deleted.
