LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN SHOW {TERI GARR, RICHARD LEWIS} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of late-night talk/variety programs hosted by David Letterman. Because of unseasonably warm November temperatures and a lack of studio air conditioning, this informal program takes place entirely in the show's cooler office areas. Included are guest appearances by actress Teri Garr, comedian Richard Lewis, and rock 'n' roll accordionist Roberta Rubinson. Highlights of this program include: Letterman, trailed by Paul Shaffer, conducts a tour of the offices, visits with the show's writers, and yells through a bullhorn at passersby outside Radio City Music Hall; segment producer Robert Morton tells the host about his pre-interview with actress Teri Garr; Letterman then interviews Garr in his office, tries to coerce her to take a shower in the adjoining bathroom, and discusses the capacity of the human brain with the actress; the host pays the pizza delivery guys for the food he ordered for the staff; Letterman then plays footage of "Stupid Pet Tricks" which has never aired on the program, including a video of a cat who eats with a spoon; comedian Richard Lewis joins Letterman to joke about his numerous neuroses; Roberta Rubinson then plays part of a song on her accordion. The program concludes as a hesitant Garr relents to Letterman's begging and takes a shower while wrapped in a towel. Includes commercials and promos.
