AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE: ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN, PART 1 (TV)

Summary

Part one of four. One in this dramatic anthology series. In part one of this adaptation of Mark Twain's classic novel, Huck Finn is living with the Watson sisters when his alcoholic, abusive father, once thought dead, comes back to reclaim him. A judge decrees that the widow Watson will retain custody of Huck, but Pap Finn kidnaps him and leaves him locked in a remote log cabin. Huck finally manages to escape, and takes refuge on an island. At the same time, Jim, the Watson's slave, eavesdrops on the sisters' conversations and learns that he is to be sold to a new slave master. By coincidence, he escapes to the same island as Huck. Meanwhile, rumors spread that Jim has killed Huck and escaped to an unknown location. As this part ends, Jim finds Huck and a search party passes by looking for Jim. Continues with T:21283.
