LAW & ORDER {LAW AND ORDER}: VENGEANCE (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas that deals with the investigation, arrest, and prosecution of criminals. The first half of each episode concerns the police procedure that leads to the arrest of asuspect, while the second half covers the efforts of the district attorney to prosecute the case. In this episode, Detectives Cerreta and Logan work to gather evidence against an ex-convict, Chaney, whom they believe to be responsible for the gruesome deaths of at least three women. After sufficient evidence is accrued, assistant district attorneys Stone and Robinette bring the case to trial. Unfortunately, Chaney's skillful lawyer gets some of the most incriminating evidence disallowed. Then the parents of Chaney's last victim, who are from Connecticut, decide that they wish to have Chaney extradited so that he may be tried in their home state, where the death penalty is legal. Stone fights to keep the case in the courts of New York City while Robinette argues that Chaney deserves death.
