Summary
One in this series of daytime talk/variety shows hosted by David Letterman and broadcast live from New York. In this program, Letterman interviews 81-year-old blues singer Sippie Wallace who discusses her long career and then performs "I Got a Man That Don't Want Me." Dr. David Coddon, a headache expert at Mt. Sinai Headache Clinic, discusses migraines, cluster headaches, and their treatment. Also includes: a mock interview with Shelley Winters in which an audience member stands in for the absent celebrity to answer questions about Winters' recently released autobiography; and four pet owners who unsuccessfully attempt to persuade their talking birds to speak on national television. An NBC News update is provided by reporter Edwin Newman. Commercials deleted.
