MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD {DIVORCE; ELECTRIC CAR; JEFF ERLANGER} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of programs for young children, hosted by Fred Rogers, which uses puppets and music to teach patience and cooperation, while providing guidance to help children cope with feelings and frustrations. In this episode, Mister Rogers imagines the latest developments in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, where hand-puppet characters interact with humans in the mythical kingdom of King Friday XIII. Everyone becomes concerned when Prince Tuesday disappears after his parents quarrel. With the assistance of the neighbors, Handyman Negri locates the wayward prince, and Lady Aberlin comforts the boy, who fears that his parents may get a divorce. Other highlights include the following: Rogers constructs a garage with blocks and visits his friend Paul, who demonstrates the electric car he has built; Jeff Erlanger, a boy who uses an electric wheelchair, visits Rogers and discusses his feelings about needing a wheelchair; and Mister Rogers and Jeff sing "It's You I Like." This program is closed-captioned.
