Summary
Continued from T:30373. One in this mystery anthology series. Part two of this three-part psychological chiller about Helena Vesey, a well-to-do fifty-year-old suburban Londoner, with an obsessive hatred for her former husband, Alex, a symphony conductor, and an unhealthy attachment to her grown barrister son, Kit. This episode opens with a flashback to Helena as a child, placing flowers on the grave of her friend Maureen, whom she poisoned due to a supposed betrayal. Following this, we see Ruth's children Leo and Harriet, as well as her husband Alex, learning of her death. Helena's plan to punish her cousin George for befriending Ruth comes to fruition when he is convicted of her murder. Meanwhile, her daughter-in-law Angela gives birth to a second daughter and agonizes over keeping the friendship between her immediate family and Alex's family from Helena. While Alex is in Rome, he meets and falls in love with American actress Jordan Tennyson. They marry in England and Jordan eventually gives birth to twins. Helena visits George in prison and is put out to find that he is not miserable, and, in fact, feels useful and hopeful about his life. This episode ends with Kit's surgery to remove a sudden brain tumor. Continues with T:30376.
