MUSEUM OF TELEVISION & RADIO SEMINAR SERIES, THE: HOT SPOTS: HOW MEMORABLE ADS ARE MADE: NIKE SNEAKERS {LONG VERSION}

Summary

One in this series of seminars conducted by The Museum of Television & Radio. For the past decade, two apparel categories -- sneakers and jeans -- have accounted for some of the most inventive and acclaimed work in television advertising. In seminars with leaders in these two fields, commercials are screened, and representatives from the agency and client discuss the spots from creation to execution. Wieden & Kennedy has been creating visually stunning, trend-setting Nike spots for close to a decade. In spreading the word to "just do it," the agency has relied on a stellar lineup of celebrities, including Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Bo Jackson, Spike Lee, and Bugs Bunny, although one of its most praised spots, "Heritage," featured no celebrities at all. This seminar explores Wieden & Kennedy's creative approach to the account by focusing on a current Nike campaign.
