NYPD BLUE: ABANDANDO ABANDONED (TV)

Summary

One in this series of rough-edged police dramas about the cases and private lives of the detectives and station house personnel of a Manhattan precinct. In this episode, Detective Greg Medavoy leaves his wife for Donna Abandando; Sharon LaSalle, a good friend of Detective Kelly's from the police academy, joins the precinct, and is welcomed warmly by Fancy and Sipowicz; an unpleasant alcoholic named Mrs. Forbes tries Kelly's patience with her continual abuse complaints against her husband, claims which she always subsequently drops; Sharon's husband, a recently retired cop, is shot while attempting to apprehend a thief he and Sharon spot across the street from the restaurant where they are dining; Kelly and Sipowicz work to catch the gunman and his accomplices; Medavoy is torn between his feelings for Donna and for his wife and daughters; and Mrs. Forbes has a surprising revelation for Kelly.
