NAKED CITY: WITHOUT STICK OR SWORD (TV)

Summary

One in this series of police dramas set in Manhattan's 65th precinct. In this episode a Burmese sailor named Maung Tun comes to New York seeking revenge on Capt. Barris, the ship captain who let Maung's four younger brothers die by not picking them up in a storm. Unwittingly, Maung kills Mrs. Barris instead of the captain, who then aids in the police investigation. When a second attack is made, this time on the ship's first lieutenant, Flint begins suspect revenge as the motive. By this point, Maung Tun has seen the headlines and realized that he killed the wrong person. Rapt with guilt, the Buddhist Maung visits a reverend who fears Maung will again turn to violence and notifies the police. Flint decides that their best move is to stay with the captain and wait for Maung to make another move. At the captain's wife's burial, Maung makes that move, but instead of killing the captain, he begs for forgiveness. Includes commercials.
