NYPD BLUE: SIMONE SAYS (TV)

Summary

One in this series of rough-edged police dramas about the cases and private lives of the detectives and station house personnel of a Manhattan precinct. In this episode, Andy Sipowicz meets his new partner, Detective Bobby Simone, and immediately tells Lieutenant Fancy that it is not going to work out; Simone intervenes when Detective Jimmy Abruzzo -- obsessed with his ex-girlfriend, Detective Adrienne Lesniak -- storms into the station and pulls a gun on her; the wiseguy son of a famous mobster is found dead from a bullet wound in front of an apartment building; an elderly woman, living in the same building is found dead by her daughter, shot by a stray bullet from the murder; Sipowicz learns that previously Simone had driven for the commissioner, and assumes he did this as an easy career track to promotion; Lesniak speaks with a Mrs. Davis, who has come to the police because she believes her husband is molesting her teenage daughter; Simone and Sipowicz question the dead man's girlfriend, a model, and Simone intuits that she may have another boyfriend who might figure in the murder; Sipowicz is impressed when Simone's questioning technique leads them to Paula's other boyfriend, a construction worker from her hometown who was jealous of her new life in New York; Lesniak speaks with fourteen year-old Allison Davis and learns that her father had been forcing her to have sex with him for quite some time; Medavoy helps Lesniak lay a delicate trap for Allison's father, Arthur Davis; and Andy is surprised to learn that Simone took the job with the commissioner because his own wife was dying of breast cancer. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements. (This program is closed-captioned.)
