Summary
One in this daytime serial set in the fictional town of Bay City, Illinois. In this episode, friends and family nervously await word on Det. Josie Watts, who lies in critical condition in the hospital after being shot in a confrontation with Cobra. During this episode, the following plot developments occur: John Hudson, weak from malaria, collapses while performing surgery on Josie, and Dr. Newman must take over; reporter Chris Madison gets a frosty reception from Rita and Lorna, who refuse to divulge information about Josie's medical status; Gary flies into a rage and blames Gabe for Josie's condition; Donna learns that when she earlier thought she was speaking in confidence to Matt, she was actually spilling her guts to Nick; with the supply of Josie's blood type very low, and Josie's mother Sharlene -- a blood match -- unreachable, John tells Rita it will be a miracle if Josie pulls through; Maggie tries to seduce Nick after luring him to her home on the pretense of helping him solve his problems with Sofia; in a secret meeting, Carl pays Raphael for a job well-done and burns Blair's passport; Matt tells Rachel he killed Blair; John resumes surgery hooked up to an I.V. when Dr. Newman cuts himself on bullet fragments; Josie has an out-of-body experience and calls for Gary; and Felicia, searching for Sharlene, is shocked to find her in bed with Michael.
