MR. SHOW WITH BOB AND DAVID: THE BIGGEST FAILURE IN BROADWAY HISTORY (TV)
Summary
One in this series of sketch comedy programs starring Bob Odenkirk and David Cross. This episode -- which features the recurring theme of aimless twentysomething "slackers" -- contains the following sketches: three middle-aged parents portray "with it" teens promoting responsible values in their excruciatingly obtuse TV show "No Adults Allowed"; the ugly problem of anti-slacker discrimination is explored; the Awards for Advertising American Ads ceremony honors image-enhancing campaigns for unpopular organizations such as the Ku Klux Klan and the North American Man-Boy Love Association; an episode of the reality-based "Cops" features drunken policemen on duty; and an impulsive slacker acquires and kills a succession of exotic pets, including an incontinent, man-sized iguana and a human albino boy. The episode concludes with an extended parody of "Jesus Christ Superstar," entitled "Jeepers Creepers Semi Star," the rousing rock musical about a reluctant slacker messiah who "plays video golf and gets high all the time."
