MR. SHOW WITH BOB AND DAVID: MR. SHOW'S FANTASTIC NEWNESS {BEST OF THE FIRST SEASON} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of sketch comedy programs starring Bob Odenkirk and David Cross. This episode is presented as a faux-informercial, "Fantastic Newness," hosted by Carlin McCree to promote the upcoming second season of "Mr. Show." It features highlights from season one and previews for season two. McCree introduces inventors Bob and David who show off their great new product, "Mr. Show." The first clip involves a man going through lots of bureaucracy simply to get change for a dollar at a convenience store. Next, resident homemaker Nancy Gumfry needs something to solve her burnt milk problem. Bob and David's solution is a clip in which Senator Tankerbell meets naked puppet "Limber Legs" and is immediately offended. On "Good News," a morning talk show, the leader of "Overcome," a group that turns homosexuals into heterosexuals, talks about his former transgressions into "sin." Next, Bob and David talk about being on HBO which allows them to swear. They show a clip in which two slick admen pitch Globochem, a stuffy corporation, on their need for Pit-Pat, a "pansexual, non-threatening, spokesthing." The final clip is of "Screwballz," a sexually explicit take-off of "Love Connection" in which couples have sex instead of going on dates. The program ends with Bob and David presenting clips for the upcoming season.
