HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET: PARTNERS AND OTHER STRANGERS (TV)

Summary

One in this dramatic police series about a department of reflective homicide detectives in Baltimore, Maryland. In this episode, Detective Pembleton is confronted with an apparent suicide and is surprised to learn the body is that of ex-homicide detective Beau Felton. When word about Felton's death reaches the department, most of the detectives are in shock. Considering the evidence and the nature of the scene, Pembleton figures that Felton had slipped into depression and shot his head off, but Sgt. Howard, Felton's former partner, refuses to believe that theory. Det. Falsone, from the auto theft division, informs Pembleton that Felton may have been involved in a multi-million-dollar car theft ring, which raises suspicions about Felton's occasionally shady police work. However, during the autopsy, Dr. Cox discovers evidence that puts a whole new twist on the suicide theory: Felton did not commit suicide, rather, he was murdered execution-style by a single gunshot wound to the back of the head. Meanwhile, Pembleton is curious as to what Bayliss has been doing with his free time and follows him. Falsone brings in his snitch, Eddie Dugan, to discuss Felton and the auto theft business. Just as they are making progress, Col. Barnfather tells Lt. Giardello to put a hold on the case. Giardello learns that Felton had been working undercover for the internal affairs department when he was killed, so the homicide department must work in cooperation with internal affairs and the auto theft division on the murder case. Pembleton has employed the assistance of every detective in the department, including Megan Russert, who has returned from France to help with the case. Commercials deleted.
