AS THE WORLD TURNS {HOLDEN AND LUCINDA TRY TO ESCAPE} (TV)
Summary
One in this long-running daytime serial, set in the midwestern town of Oakdale. In this episode, the Hughes family and their friends wait while Kim undergoes risky heart surgery. Meanwhile, Emily attempts to pull herself together after being raped by Diego. However, she cannot bear remaining in the office where the incident occurred; she goes home and becomes hysterical. Elsewhere in Oakdale, Lucinda and Holden, who are being held captive in a wine cellar, electrocute Diego when he comes by to check on them. Thinking he is dead, they try to escape, but Diego grabs Lucinda and holds a knife to her throat. Holden is armed with Diego's gun but must make a difficult decision: he can run and save Lily, or he can forfeit the gun in order to stop Diego from killing Lucinda. Later, Diego appears at Emily's home and forces her to divulge Lucinda's e-mail password so that he can send a message in Lucinda's name. Commercials deleted.
