EZ STREETS: ONE ACQUAINTED WITH THE NIGHT (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramas about an intense, straight-arrow police officer, a psychotic and ruthless crime boss, and a reformed ex-convict living parallel lives on opposite sides of the tracks. In this episode, Quinn calls Murtha to inform him that he plans to arrest Danny for the murder of Dog Face. Murtha is shocked and must figure out the best way to protect Danny. Meanwhile, Councilperson Wyler, who has been badly beaten, wakes up in the hospital. And at this point, Mayor Davidson decides that Dugan has gone too far. Quinn tells Geary that he plans to use Danny to finally bring Murtha down, but word of the plot gets back to Murtha, who is stunned since he was sure Quinn was a crooked cop. In the meantime, Danny is in line for a major promotion at work after he makes an illegitimate sale. And Elli tells Danny why she became a prostitute, but he cannot understand the reasons that she gives. Meanwhile, Mayor Davidson decides to go ahead with the gambling ordinance, despite his feeling of unease in regard to Dugan. After Quinn and Collero question the union foreman, Leo, to no avail, Murtha asks Leo if he told the cops anything, insisting that Leo keep his mouth shut. Danny confronts Murtha regarding Elli, and then Quinn tells Danny that Elli was arrested on prostitution and drug charges. Just as Quinn had planned, Danny must now decide whom to protect, Elli or Murtha. After Murtha sends Conners to help Elli, Danny makes his decision, and Murtha explains why he stopped providing assistance for Elli. Commercials deleted.
