HAPPY DAYS: OUR GANG (TV)
Summary
One in the series of comedies about life in the 1950s. In this episode, the high school kids prepare for a big pep rally as Al leads the cheers at Arnold's. There, Richie is angered to see Chachi wearing a Lords gang jacket. Chachi thinks it is acceptable since Fonz was once in a gang. Thus, Richie decides to tell a story from Fonz's gang days. It was Richie and Potsie's first day ever in Arnold's as sophomores. There, they meet new kid Ralph. Then, Fonz and his Falcons gang appear and try to chase Richie and his friends' from their "turf." Richie refuses to move and soon he is being challenged to a late-night fight by Fonz. Later, Richie discusses things with his father and is inadvertently inspired to fight Fonz. Richie goes to the alley alone and finds Potsie and Ralph there willing to help. Richie dismisses his friends though, saying he has to take care of things on his own. The 10 p.m. fight time finally comes, and so does Fonz, surprised that Richie actually showed. Richie is shocked at all the things over which Fonz is willing to fight. Richie asks why Fonz is in a gang. Fonz tells Richie he has a lot of guts and thus they don't need to have a real fight. Fonz even throws away his jacket and decides to quit the Falcons, having listened to Richie's comments about the dangers of a gang. However, Richie's story doesn't convince Chachi, at least until his gang arrives with a "rumble chain." The Lords members say Chachi can't leave the gang without a fight, and Fonz, Al, and Richie promise to deliver one, sending the Lords fleeing. Commercials deleted.
