HAPPY DAYS: CRUISIN' (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedies about life in the 1950s.
In this episode, Richie, Potsie, and Ralph make Saturday night plans to go cruising for girls, making a bet with Bag that they will ultimately be more successful by night's end than he will. Plans go awry when Marion borrows Richie's car and accidentally dents it, forcing Richie to use his father's DeSoto for the cruising.
The three boys take the giant family car around town, finding little success at first as they grow concerned that they will lose the bet and thus be forced to run around Arnold's parking lot in their underwear. Eventually, they find themselves with three seemingly interested girls -- the only problem being that the girls are dating members of a gang called the Dragons.
Richie tries to put the moves on group leader Hildie by asking what lipstick flavor she's wearing. He finds out about the lipstick when she covers his face with it, to the amusement of Potsie and Ralph.
The episode culminates with Richie, in the now souped-up DeSota, forced to drag race the leader of the Dragons to "win" the girls. After Richie pulls through, however, the girls admit that they want to stay with their Dragon boyfriends and were only trying to make them jealous. Commercials deleted.
