Summary
One in this dramatic daytime serial about the socially disparate founding families of Genoa City, Wisconsin. In this episode, everyone is consumed with the deaths of George Rawlins and Phillip Chancellor. After Paul Williams is indicted for George's murder, Carl Williams tries to prove his son's innocence. When he learns that the widow Cassandra Rawlins and Victor Newman -- two individuals who are essential to the murder case -- have been seen together, Carl goes straight to Victor to learn if anything suspicious is going on. Meanwhile, as Catherine Chancellor Sterling mourns her grandson Phillip, she also feels concern for his mother, Jill, who had previously been her nemesis. She sends her husband Rex to help Jill overcome her grief and bitterness over Phillip's untimely death -- although Jill is intent on blaming Catherine and Nina. Meanwhile, Nina tries to lure Catherine's maid, Esther, to come work for her, while Catherine asks her maid to spy on Nina and keep an eye on baby Phillip, Catherine's great-grandson. Also, Cricket's date with Derek starts out full of fun and flirtation, but comes to a violent end. And Victor begins seducing Cassandra -- only to find out whether she is responsible for her husband's death. Commercials deleted.
