LARRY SANDERS SHOW, THE: THE HANKERCISER 200 (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series starring Garry Shandling as Larry Sanders, a late-night talk show host. In this episode, Hank plants his name on an exercise machine, the "Hankerciser 200," and peddles it on the home-shopping channel. Meanwhile, Arty gives a tour of the studio to his college students, and Hank decides to hawk the machine to them. Larry's girlfriend Francine is coerced by Hank into writing a story about the machine, but she decides to test it for herself before writing anything. The visiting students begin to annoy Larry, but Hank cannot get enough of them; they seem to love his machine. While using the machine, Francine is injured, and Larry tries to stop her from writing the article, fearing the strain her frankness might place on his relationship with Hank. Larry and Hank discuss the dangers of the machine, and Hank insults Francine. Fearful of the possible damage to his pocketbook and reputation, Hank breaks into tears and begs Francine to stop writing the article. This program is closed-captioned.
