L.A. LAW {LA LAW}: I'M IN THE NUDE FOR LOVE (TV)
Summary
One in this series of legal dramas set in the Los Angeles law firm of McKenzie Brackman. In this episode, Victor decides to defend a hospital that's being sued by a couple who feel it's their right to euthanize their severely injured, brain-damaged daughter, and his decision raises some eyebrows around the firm. However, Leland insists that whenever staff members are approached by the press, they should say that the hospital is doing what's right, even if they don't personally agree with that statement. Meanwhile, Benny develops a crush on Arnie's new girlfriend, who sends Benny flowers after he defends her from a sexual predator in a bar. Kuzak is hired by the manager of a nudist colony to defend the colony's denizens' right to parade around naked on their own property; they're being sued by neighbors who object to the crowds of teenagers that have taken to gathering outside the gates ever since "Ms. Nude Universe" decided to move into the community. In addition, Victor's case causes even more controversy when he calls the couple's daughter as a witness. Victor's idea is to get the judge to feel sympathy for the girl; he figures that once the judge is able to put a face to the name, he won't allow the girl to be euthanized. But Victor feels torn when he sees how much pain his strategy is causing the girl's parents. And Benny sinks into a deep depression when he begins to think that Arnie's girlfriend is only being nice to him because he's retarded. Kuzak gets frustrated when "Ms. Nude Universe" offends the conservative jury when she's called to testify; during her testimony she breathily describes her most intimate fantasies.
