X-FILES, THE: QUAGMIRE (TV)
Summary
One in this series of science fiction dramas about FBI agents Mulder and Scully and their investigations into "unsolvable" cases involving paranormal phenomena. In this episode, Mulder and Scully travel to the wilds of Georgia to investigate a series of disappearances near Heuvelman's Lake. The body of water is known for its mythical lake monster, "Big Blue," and Mulder cannot help but wonder if the disappearances are linked to a mysterious creature. They soon find that, although there are many tall tales surrounding the cult of Big Blue, there is no proof of the monster's existence. But while they investigate the lake area, bodies begin turning up dismembered and torn, suggesting the existence of a huge carnivorous creature. A large-scale search of the lake ensues as the list of casualties grow -- but the monster that Mulder finally meets face-to-face is not the beast that he had imagined. Commercials deleted.
