Summary
The first of two episodes on this tape. One in this satirical soap opera series about Mary Hartman, a housewife from Fernwood, Ohio. In this episode, Charlie decides to use his percentage of the Ohio 500 prize money to make a down payment on his testicle transplant with Dr. Fratkis, but he must first find a willing donor; Cathy moves in with the Addams family and hears about Christine's black-sheep sister, who ran away to Vermont to found a basket-weaving commune; Merle searches for evidence to clear him of corruption charges in the "Condos for Christ" scandal; and Mary bakes Annie a get-well cake (made with aspirin) and asserts her belief that "every cloud has a silver lining -- even the mushroom-shaped ones." Commercials deleted.
