Summary

The third of three episodes on this tape. One in this satirical soap opera series about Mary Hartman, a housewife from Fernwood, Ohio. In this episode, Merle surprises the City Council by making a speech in which he bares his soul -- and his body; George and Martha are joined at the hospital by the rest of the gang to await the outcome of Cathy's kidney transplant; and Blumberg uses Cathy's operation as a media event to generate publicity for Barth. Cathy goes into cardiac arrest after the operation, and the assembly prays for her salvation by lifting their voices in song. And Mary comes to understand that her life will always be coated with "a waxy yellow buildup." Commercials deleted.
