STRANGERS WITH CANDY: BULLY (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series that follows the exploits of Jerri Blank, a forty-six-year-old high-school freshman and self-described former "user, boozer, and loser." In this episode, a school bully assaults Tammy in the girls' bathroom. When Jerri comes to Tammy's rescue, the bully challenges Jerri to a fight after school. Meanwhile, Mr. Noblet takes a sick leave, and his substitute, Mr. Tidbits, is vehemently homophobic. Tidbits asks Mr. Jellineck whether he is a "faggot" and then challenges Jellineck to prove his manliness in a fight after school. Tammy tries desperately to convince Jerri not to fight, but Jerri is determined to hold onto her pride. When the last bell rings, Jerri and Jellineck sit apprehensively in Jellineck's classroom. They talk about their predicament, and Jellineck tells Jerri about pacifism and gives her a peace necklace for encouragement. Finally, they go outside to meet their challengers. Jellineck gets pummeled by Tidbits -- until Tidbits finally stops throwing punches and asks Jellineck for a ride home. Jerri also gets beaten up, but then she appeals to the bully's need for love. Jellineck and Jerri take the advantage when they can and get back at their assailants viciously before driving away together. Commercials deleted.
