GILMORE GIRLS: CHRISTOPHER RETURNS (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic series about Lorelai Gilmore, a thirty-something mother raising her teenage daughter Rory under the constant surveillance of her overbearing and very wealthy parents, Emily and Richard. In this episode, Rory's father Christopher returns in order to spend more time with his daughter. Lorelai must cope with her emotions at having him around. Christopher gets a taste of small-town life when gossip spreads quickly about his visit as Rory shows him the town. Lorelai's mother Emily invites the trio to dinner on Friday night, explaining that she has invited Christopher's parents, Straub and Francine Hayden, as well. Friday night is a disaster. Richard has a fight with Straub, who insists that the early pregnancy ruined Christopher's life. After a miserable evening, Christopher and Lorelai become physically intimate. In the meantime, Luke waits for Lorelai at the restaurant as they had a date to paint the place together. The next morning, Lorelai realizes she has forgotten Luke and apologizes to deaf ears. When Christopher asks Lorelai to marry him later that morning, Lorelai must explain to both him and Rory that he is not responsible enough for marriage. He leaves but promises to keep in better touch with Rory. The program closes as Lorelai surprises Luke by painting his restaurant. Commercials deleted.
