AS THE WORLD TURNS {BOATHOUSE EXPLOSION} (TV)

Summary

One in this long-running daytime serial, set in the midwestern town of Oakdale. In this episode, Hal Munson confronts Carly at Holden and Luke Snyder's memorial service. She informs him that Craig Montgomery has told her that Barbara Ryan was threatening to ruin his life. Hal realizes that Barbara could be in danger, and Carly tells him that Barbara was going to meet Jack Snyder at the boathouse. At the boathouse, a gloved hand is seen setting a bomb in the rafters. Jack leaves the memorial service to meet Barbara just before Hal takes off, with Carly in tow. Lily sees Simon at the memorial service and demands to know why he is there. Later, Jake asks Simon not to tell Lily his theory about the deaths of Holden and Luke. Inside the funeral home, Iva Benedict begins the eulogy, but Lily interrupts her. Carly and Hal are on the road to the boathouse when Carly confesses that she is concerned about Jack. She says that she distrusts Barbara -- and that she thinks that Julia and Barbara may be setting Jack up. Just as Jack, Hal, and Carly arrive at the boathouse, the bomb explodes. Hal and Jack rush in to find a lifeless Barbara. Back at the memorial service, Lily announces that she refuses to accept the death of Holden and Luke until there is proof that they are dead. Paramedics arrive at the boathouse to try to resuscitate Barbara. At the funeral home, Lily tries to figure out how to begin her search for Holden and Luke, and Simon tells her that he may have some helpful information. Meanwhile, in his apartment, Craig packs a bag and orders an airline ticket. Convinced that Julia is behind the bombing in a plot to hurt Jack, Carly pays a visit to Julia at the mental hospital. In a dungeon somewhere, Luke is sitting alone in a corner. Suddenly, the door opens, and a limp body shrouded in cloth is dropped onto the floor.
