Summary
One in this series of nightly comedy shows which take a skewered look at current events and feature field stories about any topic. This program, hosted by Jon Stewart, is broken down into different segments and features actress Kate Beckinsale. The first segment, "Headlines," looks at the upcoming September 11, 2001-related episode of "The West Wing" and MSNBC reporter Ashleigh Banfield's darkening of her hair to be more inconspicuous in the Middle East. Next, Stewart checks in with his "foreign" corespondents across the globe, all trying to fit in with their surroundings: Steve Carell in Islamabad; Mo Rocca in Beijing; Nancy Walls in Toronto; and a Hitler-esque mustachioed Stephen Colbert in Berlin. Next, Stewart interviews Beckinsale about her upcoming romantic comedy "Serendipity" and the behavior of her young daughter, before making a faux pas concerning Beckinsale's live-in lover. Next, the segment "This Just In" details Katherine Harris's bid for a Florida congressional seat. Following that, Matt Walsh checks in with some tips on how to survive the "incredibly comfortable" autumn weather. Stewart closes the show with a moment of Zen. Commercials deleted.
