QUEER AS FOLK {U.S. VERSION}: THE LEPER (HATH THE BABE NOT EYES?) (TV)
Summary
One in this series about the day-to-day lives of a circle of gay and lesbian friends living in Pittsburgh.
In this episode, Ted's internet pornography site peaks at 1003 hits, with Emmett performing under the pseudonym "Fetch Dickson." Michael reassures Ben that he is still interested in a relationship even after Ben's admission that he is HIV positive. Strapped for money, Lindsay and Melanie decide to go to Lindsay's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson, for help with their wedding. After the Petersons ignore Lindsay's requests, Melanie suggests inviting them over to help them become more familiar with their daughter's life.
Michael's friends -- and Debbie -- discover that Michael is dating someone who is HIV positive and discourage him from pursuing the relationship. Emmett, realizing that Ted is exploiting him, shows up for his next performance with a list of demands, leading to a rift between the two. The Petersons refuse to attend a brunch at Lindsay and Melanie's home at the last minute, and Melanie confronts the couple about their callous behavior toward their daughter.
Meanwhile, Brian decides to liven up Lindsay's party by spiking the punch with ecstasy. Everyone has a blast -- until the Petersons show up after all. Ted decides to meet several of Emmett's demands, and Michael prepares to become intimate with Ben. While getting condoms from Ben's medicine cabinet, however, he sees myriad medicine bottles and begins to question the choice he has made. This program is closed-captioned.
