KING OF QUEENS, THE: LIFE SENTENCE (TV)
Summary
The first of two programs on this tape. One in this comedy series about parcel delivery man Doug Heffernan, who lives in Queens, New York, with his wife Carrie and his father-in-law Arthur. In this episode, Arthur returns from the hospital after heart surgery and finds it difficult to adjust to a new diet, never mind Carrie's concerns about his health. Without Arthur's knowledge, Carrie gets Doug to install a video camera in Arthur's basement apartment so they can monitor his behavior. In the meantime, Carrie invites a life insurance agent to the house so that she and Doug can upgrade their policy. The issue arises as to who will take care of Arthur in the event of Carrie's death, leading to a farcical debate as to whether Carrie's smoking or Doug's overeating will lead to a quicker demise. In the meantime, Doug's buddies become addicted to watching Arthur's habits, deeming it more entertaining than a reality show. Commercials deleted.
