HALLMARK HALL OF FAME: MY SISTER'S KEEPER {TAPE 1 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
Tape one of two. One in this series of dramatic specials presented by Hallmark. In this production, a busy career woman learns to cope with her schizophrenic sister's behavior and needs. After exhibiting increasingly erratic behavior as a young girl and teenager, sixteen-year-old Christine is diagnosed with schizophrenia. Though Judy tries to maintain a normal sisterly relationship with Christine, she is upset and embarrassed by her aberrant behavior. The girls' mother, Helen, is concerned with how stigma attached to the illness affects herself and Judy, who she wants to have a normal life despite her sister's illness. The story advances to the present: Christine, now middle-aged, visits Judy in New York. During Christine's visit with Judy, Christine exhibits erratic behavior that turns out to be symptomatic of a schizophrenic episode and is re-hospitalized. Helen and Judy discuss arrangements for Christine if anything should happen to Helen. Christine tells Judy that she is angry toward her for keeping her distance in New York. Helen suffers a stroke and Judy decides to take her off life support. Includes commercials. Continues with T:69491. This program is closed-captioned.
