CRONICAS MARCIANAS {MARTIAN CHRONICLES} {SPANISH}
(TV)

Summary

One in this series of bawdy, late night comedy/variety shows. This show includes a panel that discusses sex, romance, and celebrities; features by regular cast members; outlandish characters who disrupt the proceedings; and striptease and musical performances. Host Javier Sard‡ and Lola La Bruja, a transvestite "witch" who reads cards and threatens to put a curse on anyone who crosses her, open the show. Next, Sard‡ goes to "Mariano Manson," the overweight "cousin" of shock rocker Marilyn Manson, who is seated among the audience members. Then he introduces the night's panel: sexologist Carmen Berdugo; journalist Marisol Gald—n; strip artist Chiqui Mart’; singer/composer Ramon "Ramonc’n"; Venezuelan actress Ivonne Reyes; and writer/journalist Bego–a Ameztoy. In a pre-recorded segment, Chiqui Mart’ takes to the streets asking passersby what they would do if they were attracted to their friend's boyfriend/girlfriend. Back in the studio, the panel discusses "love at first sight" and other matters of romance, before moving on to a game where they try to identify naked celebrities. Next, Manel Fuentes joins the group to show some off-color commercials from around the world. The panel plays another game where they guess whether various Latin American slang terms refer to male or female genitalia. Then, Sard‡ goes to a married woman in the audience who gives a testimonial about her disappointing experience at a "swingers" club. One cast member leads a segment on internet sites which feature nude Kate Moss photos, and the site of "El Museo Erotico"; another cast member discusses recent television news, including a bit from Britain that claims Margaret Thatcher is a sex symbol. Next, Chiqui Mart’ performs a full strip tease. After the performance, Sard‡, now without his panel, welcomes Mart’ Galindo, who reports the celebrity news, including footage of actress Inma Del Moral and coverage of the recent spat between singers Tony Genil and Leonardo Dantes. Next, Fernando Ramos demonstrates in a "six degrees of separation" fashion that singer Jose Luis Perales is indeed related to cartoons. Then, guest CachŽ Juncal sings "QuŽ gitana va." The entire cast, including the Lola, Mariano Manson, and the Disappointed Wife, return for a final segment where Sard‡ gives a closing salute to St. Clare, patron saint of television, and brings on a hypnotist who only hypnotizes himself. Commercials deleted.
