SIX FEET UNDER: IN PLACE OF ANGER (TV)

Summary

One in this series about the Fisher clan, a loving -- if dysfunctional -- family struggling to maintain a sense of normalcy in the face of the stressful day-to-day operations of the eccentric family business, a funeral home in Los Angeles. In this episode, a drunken businessman, Matthew Heath Collins, is killed when he falls overboard during a company cruise. After Mr. Collins's widow chooses to go with a home owned by Kroehner, the corporate funeral business that has been trying to buy out Fisher and Sons, David undercuts them to get the client back. Federico and Vanessa have a fight after an inspection shows that their house needs thousands of dollars in structural repairs. Nate gives Brenda an engagement ring, and plans a family dinner where he can tell everyone the news. In the meantime, Ruth's free-spirited sister Sarah shows up for an unexpected visit, befriending Nikolai and encouraging Claire's artistic tendencies. At the engagement dinner, Ruth grows more and more tense in response to Sarah's behavior. When Nate finally makes his announcement, Ruth responds by excusing herself to the kitchen. Brenda and Nate are discouraged and upset by her lack of enthusiasm. Kroehner executive Mitzi Dalton-Huntley coerces the Fisher boys into accompanying her to a Kroehner-sponsored retreat where she makes a last-ditch pitch to buy their company -- and Nate rejects it. After church one Sunday, David admits to Ben that he still has feelings for Keith.
