ACCORDING TO JIM: THE CHRISTMAS PARTY (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about Jim, a construction business owner in Chicago, and his ongoing battles with his wife, three kids and in-laws. In this episode, Jim and Andy install Christmas lights, preparing for the holiday season. Later, Jim is upset to see Cheryl baking cookies for the Crannis family, the neighbors with whom Jim has had a feud since 1997. Soon enough, Jim realizes that Cheryl wants to get invited to the annual Crannis Christmas party. Then, Al Crannis drops by, claiming that Jim backed his truck into his front lawn nativity scene, beheading one of his wise men. The next day, Marilyn Crannis brings Al by to invite Jim and Cheryl to their party. However, Jim doesn't understand why Al has done such an about-face, until he learns that Cheryl bought Al a new wiseman. Thus, Cheryl -- along with Andy, Dana, and the girls -- decides to go to the party without Jim. Hearing the revelry next door, Jim tries to have fun all by himself, which he finds to be quite a struggle. Ultimately, Jim gets an idea, dressing up as Santa Claus and walking over to the party. Remaining in disguise to everyone but Andy, Jim predictably causes a mess in the Crannis house, culminating in the flooding of their bathroom via an overflowing toilet. Escaping back home without getting caught, Jim soon hears from Cheryl about Al and Marilyn accommodating the partygoers in their garage. Consumed by guilt, Jim decides to move the party to his house. Though Cheryl ultimately realizes Jim's part in the debacle, the celebrants all manage to join together for carols as snow begins to fall. Includes commercials.
