FRIENDS: THE ONE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN {PARTS 1 AND 2} (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about six Generation-X friends who live together in New York City and share a favorite haunt, a coffee bar called Central Perk. In this episode, news of the divorce of Rachel's former fiance Barry and her former best friend Mindy leads the gang to ponder what could have happened if their lives had taken different courses: Rachel married to Barry, Ross still married to Carol, Monica still obese and dating a "boring" doctor, Chandler an aspiring comedy writer, Phoebe working for Merrill Lynch, and Joey a famous soap star -- and Rachel's small-screen crush.

In this fantasy world, Joey hires the struggling Chandler to be his personal assistant to earn some cash, while Ross runs into Rachel on the street and introduces her back into the gang. Later, the overworked Phoebe has a minor heart attack and is sent to the hospital, while Joey gives the starstruck Rachel a tour of his studio and the karate-loving Ross tries to revamp his sex life with Carol.

Frustrated with being subservient to Joey, Chandler finally sells a story to "Archie Comics" based on his experience as an assistant. Ultimately, Rachel must decide whether to cheat on Barry with Joey, Monica must decide whether to finally lose her "flower" at age thirty, Carol talks Ross into having a threesome with another woman, and Phoebe attempts to hang onto her high-stress job. Commercials deleted.
