Summary
The first of two programs on this tape. One in this drama series about a group of crime fighters that investigate unsolved death cases. This episode, part one of two, begins as a man on his deathbed, Harry Newman, dies, but not before confessing numerous "unauthorized killings" to his priest. Detective Boyd is contacted and, though incredulous, begins investigating the decades-old deaths. When Newman (having gone by an alias his entire life) turns out to have been the "most prolific serial killer London has ever seen," Boyd and his crew try to figure out why he murdered so many people and what his relationship may be to the infamous Charlie Sutton Miller's Wharf Trial from years past. This part ends with a masked perpetrator breaking into Grace's flat, knocking her out cold, and stealing some of the forensic psychologist's documents relating to the case.
