BROTHERS & SISTERS: BAD NEWS (TV)

Summary

One in this drama series about the California-based Walker family, an adult clan of siblings trying to live up to their parents' lofty expectations after the death of the family patriarch.

In this episode, Rebecca discusses with Justin how Joe inappropriately kissed her. Nora visits her writing teacher Mark, curious as to why she failed the class. Mark allows her to pass on one condition: She'll "make up" a missed class by going on a date with him. Meanwhile, Senator McCallister fights unending tension on the fund-raising trail. After the senator alienates speech writer Steve, Kitty tells the frustrated staffer to fly back to L.A. in the campaign chopper while she takes the senator to the ranch.

Later, Justin confronts Joe, accusing him of kissing Rebecca, and telling him to come clean with Sarah. Joe subsequently talks Sarah into leaving town for the weekend and going camping with him. That night, Kitty learns the campaign chopper crashed while carrying Steve. While camping, Joe goads Sarah into skinny-dipping but can't admit to having kissed Rebecca. Meanwhile, Kitty and the senator try to figure out how to best handle the death of Steve, with Kitty thinking the senator should make a statement on camera.

Elsewhere, Justin reveals Joe's secret to Kevin, but Kevin is a bit skeptical about the circumstances. At Nora's dinner with Mark, they eat Ethiopian food as Nora catches on to her teacher's dating techniques and tells him he's "a louse." Meanwhile, Justin further questions Rebecca on the specifics of what happened between her and Joe. Returning from the camping trip, Joe calls Justin, imploring him to not tell the truth to Sarah. Eventually, Rebecca tells Holly what happened.

The next day, Holly pays a visit to Sarah's office, glorying in exposing the truth about Joe and Rebecca. Meanwhile, the senator gives a heartfelt press conference where he addresses the helicopter crash. That night, Sarah finally confronts Joe and the two have it out. Meanwhile, Rebecca is furious that her mother told the truth to Sarah. Mark calls Nora, noting that she was insightful about him and that he would like a second chance with her. With nowhere else to go, Rebecca speaks with Nora, who lets her stay at the Walkers' house. Finally, a teary Kitty asks the senator if he will marry her and Joe recalls what actually happened with Rebecca. Includes commercials.
