ABC NOVEL FOR TELEVISION: ROOTS, EPISODE 6 (TV)
Summary
The sixth episode of this special series tracing the history of one black family through generations of enslavement in America. This episode begins in October 1824 as Kizzy's son, George, has become a gamecock trainer, and a favorite of his secret father, Master Moore. Sam Bennett, a driver from another plantation, proposes to Kizzy. Seventeen years have passed, and in May of 1841, the Nat Turner rebellion has the slave owners scared. Master Moore turns on his slaves, threatening to kill them, and George, meanwhile, has married Matilda, and had a family. After losing a critical cockfight, George is sent to England with Squire James to pay off Moore's debt and the family is sold to Master Harvey. Includes commercials.
