PALMERSTOWN, U.S.A. {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The premiere of this series of dramas about a black family (the Freemans) and a white family (the Halls) living in depression-era Palmerstown, Tenn. In this portion, W.D. Hall and Luther Freeman quarrel over a grocery bill from W.D.'s store. Meanwhile, their sons, best friends David Hall and Booker T. Freeman, get drunk on a relative's whiskey and are forbidden to see each other. David Hall and Booker T. Freeman fight about their fathers and townspeople pressure W.D. Hall and Luther Freeman about their quarrel. When Coralee Hall has problems delivering her baby, they send for Bessie Freeman, a midwife, and the families are reunited. Commercials deleted.
