HAWAII FIVE-O: WE HANG OUR OWN (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas that follow rogue Detective Steve McGarrett as he uncovers evil in paradise as a member of a special branch of the Hawaiian State Police. In this episode, McGarrett and his men try to prevent a cattle baron from taking the law into his own hands. The story begins as Kam Farraday, the favorite son of the Colonel, a powerful and influential rancher, is killed in a barroom brawl over a local girl. At the preliminary hearing, prime suspect Larry Kahela maintains his innocence, claiming that he only hit Kam a few times and then fled. However, the Colonel's other son, Jay, who witnessed the attack from the safety of a nearby bush, testifies that Larry continued to beat and kick his brother until he was dead. The judge finds that there is enough evidence to indict Larry on the lesser charge of manslaughter and releases him on bail, pending a court trial. The Colonel, whose family has held a powerful position on the island for over a century, arranges for Larry to be kidnapped from his home in the middle of the night. A search of the Colonel's ranch reveals nothing, but McGarrett retains his suspicion and warns the Colonel that vigilantism will not be tolerated. As McGarrett sets out to find the rock which caused the fatal blow to Kam's skull, the Colonel hold his own trial and prepares to sentence Larry to death by hanging. Commercials deleted.
